Dear Yuletide Author:
I have NO IDEA what to say because I am such a newb. Let's see.
I guess what I want in my stocking this year is some dense awesome character exploration fic. Backstory, introspection, whatever, throw it at me, but make it thorough and I would especially appreciate anything you write to be set largely during the canon or before. Canon-based without speculation, I suppose is what I mean?
Hamlet: I'd love exploration of Hamlet and/or Ophelia's relative insanities, whether starkly or artistically done.
Spring Awakening: I'd love to see Melchior the revolutionary with all his faults and virtues laid bare at any point of SA.
Dollhouse: I'll take character exploration fic for any one of the three characters I requested. (Though, I am a huge fan of Topher Brink and would just about die for some really good take-no-prisoners fic about what a wonderfully horrible person he is.)
If you're a ship person instead, sink your teeth into one of these ships and don't let it go 'til it begs for mercy:
Hamlet: Hamlet/Ophelia
Spring Awakening: Melchior/Wendla OR Melchior/Moritz
Dollhouse: Alpha/Echo (one-sided).
Please please please fade to black or artistically write around any smut that might call to you, because I am just not interested and that's okay. Sex scenes are fine by me, I just don't see the need to know how many times Melchior thrust. You get the gist.
Other, more specific options:
1) I love love love Lovecraftian horror. I feel like there's potential for horror in both Hamlet and Dollhouse as fandoms, and if you could bring that out, it'd be awesome.
2) If you happen to know His Dark Materials-'verse, ANY Spring Awakening fic placed within or fused with the daemon-'verse would be adored. The ideas of lost innocence and coming of age are heavily discussed in both, and I'd love to see this explored.
3) Dollhouse fused into the Harry Potter wizarding world would rock MY world. What would be different, what would be the same, and MAGICAL AMERICANS, how are THEY different? Etc.
Lastly, Author, I will note to you that I will likely love whatever you throw at me, because I love these characters. <3 So do your thing.
